Sven B. Schreiber (sbs) This is some of the best live fusion I've listened to in my life! "Tauk's" sound is pleasantly fat, and their compositions are splendid. Even the improvisations, interspersed at reasonable rate and duration, are great. The composed parts don't expose a rigidly laid out structure, but follow a natural flow, moving on in a perpetual process of metamorphosis. It's real fun to listen to this album over and over again! Favorite track: Afro Tonic.

Cornelius O'Donnell Great set. If you haven't heard this group yet, listen now. Favorite track: Sweet Revenge.

Roy Meerkamper Four piece band that my old college roommate turned me on to. Instrumental fusion, balanced between guitar and keys, great songwriting and execution. It sounds like they are playing in front of about three people, but this is a really good band. Cannot wait to hear more. Guys - come out to the west coast! Favorite track: Afro Tonic.

about

TAUK New York, New York

The Oyster Bay, NY-bred rock-fusion four-piece is comprised of guitarist Matt Jalbert, bassist Charlie Dolan, keyboardist/organist Alric “A.C.” Carter and drummer Isaac Teel. The all-instrumental blend of prog rock, hip-hop, + jazz proves to be powerfully hypnotic + intensely thought-provoking. Shapeshifter II: Outbreak is TAUK’s most sonically adventurous, emotionally expansive work to date. ... more
